I’m a Chicago native. I live in the suburb of Oak Park with my wife Karen, our two kids Jack and Danny and our golden retriever Payton. Our oldest son Jack attends the University of Illinois as a Freshmen and our youngest son Danny is a sophomore at OPRF High School.
I went to Denison, a small, liberal arts school in Ohio. My first job was selling copiers in downtown Chicago. Beyond that I have been in telecom sales for the last twenty plus years with stints at AT&T, Global Crossing and Level 3. During that tenure I have mostly been focused on selling voice and WAN services to domestic and multinational enterprise clients. I have witnessed first-hand the evolution of the WAN from Frame Relay to ATM, MPLS and finally SD-WAN.
I love working with clients. More than anyone I know I can take initial client relationships and build them into long term partnerships. I read once that clients buy from two types of people: those they like and those they trust. I always strive to achieve both. My end goal is to have my clients only call me when they need to discuss new technology initiatives because they know everything I do is in the best interest of their business. My favorite technology is SD-WAN, it has solved for many of the headaches that plagued my client base throughout my career.
I love spending time with my wife and kids, skiing, running, writing, playing golf badly, going to see concerts like Foo Fighters, Pearl Jam, and Dead & Co. and I’m a big movie buff. My current top five are: Apocalypse Now, Goodfellas, Shawshank Redemption, Big Lebowski, and No Country for Old Men.
QuirksMy wife and I like to scuba dive but we haven’t been since we had kids
I was at the Steve Bartman Cubs game which was one of the craziest sports experiences of my life.
I was on a sales team with Avant President Drew Lydecker at AT&T before he left and took over the telecom world.
