At C3 Technology Advisors, we are driven by more than just business success. We foster a culture that prioritizes giving back, embracing change, and building long-term relationships—both professionally and within our communities. This shines through in the efforts of our team members, who not only excel in their professional roles but make significant impacts beyond the office. The initiatives led by Kimmy DiBenedetto, Sheila Snow, and Ryan Boyk showcase their entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to creating meaningful change. Their dedication to these causes exemplifies the core values that define us as a company.

Kimmy DiBenedetto: From Driveway to Diamond

About four years ago, Kimmie DiBenedetto, Project Manager, started a simple fundraiser by setting up a table at the end of her driveway, collecting dog food for a nearby shelter. As the community’s support for animals grew, so did Kimmie’s focus on the cause. In 2023, she launched the first Play for Paws softball tournament—a significant leap from her driveway setup. The event raised $4,000, with the entry fee being a bag of dog food. By 2024, the tournament grew exponentially, raising $16,000 along with dog and cat food donations. It drew 140 participants, featured 30+ raffle baskets, and secured 28 sponsors. All proceeds go to the Parma Animal Shelter in Cleveland, OH, a nonprofit run entirely on donations.

Reflecting on the journey, Kimmie is proud of how far the Play for Paws tournament has come. "I didn’t want to make it my whole personality, but now it kind of is," she joked. On the morning of the tournament, seeing everyone lined up on the field, she thought, "Wow, I made this happen." What began as a small idea has blossomed into a major community event.

C3 Technology Advisors is proud to support Kimmie’s efforts consistently. "It’s not just generic questions and involvement; my coworkers care," Kimmie shared.

Sheila Snow: Spreading Smiles with We Do Care

At C3, we believe in supporting causes that make a real impact in the community, and we're proud to highlight the incredible work of our financial controller, Sheila Snow, and her dedication to We Do Care. Her involvement with this inspiring charity goes beyond professional commitment—it's a personal mission rooted in compassion, resilience, and the drive to make a difference in the lives of children battling cancer.

Sheila’s connection to We Do Care is deeply meaningful and rooted in a story of compassion and community support. It all began when she was 16 years old. Her best friend’s grandfather, while battling cancer himself, was deeply moved by the children facing similar struggles. This experience inspired him to establish We Do Care—a charity dedicated to bringing joy and comfort to young patients battling cancer. Sheila has been involved with the charity since that time, and for the past seven years, she has served as the treasurer, playing a crucial role in ensuring the organization’s mission is fulfilled.

We Do Care focuses on providing comfort and happiness to children undergoing treatment at Helen DeVos in Grand Rapids, MI. Whether it’s covering the cost of gas cards, organizing meals, funding trips to places like the Great Wolf Lodge, or hosting pizza parties, the charity steps in to offer support that truly makes a difference.

The impact of Sheila’s involvement with We Do Care is profound. Each new case she encounters stays with her, highlighting the harsh reality that cancer doesn’t discriminate. Yet, despite the heartbreak, Sheila finds immense reward in knowing that the charity’s efforts bring moments of happiness to these children. For her, it’s not just about addressing needs—it’s about making a difference in the lives of children who deserve to smile, even amidst their challenges.

Sheila's initiative inspired us, and we were happy to rally together to support her efforts by purchasing raffle tickets and making donations during the charity’s annual golf outing, where C3 also sponsored a hole.

Ryan Boyk: Bidding for a Better Tomorrow

Outside of being a Global Technology Advisors, Ryan Boyk, is also a professional auctioneer, dedicates his talents to school charity auctions aimed at feeding the hungry. By offering his auctioneering skills for free, Ryan helps schools raise thousands of dollars, providing significant financial relief by saving them the cost of hiring a paid auctioneer. His unique ability to auction quickly and effectively has a profound impact, making these fundraisers highly successful.

The most rewarding aspect for Ryan is knowing that his natural talent can make a real difference. He draws inspiration from the culture of C3 Technology Advisors, which encourages community involvement and giving back. As Ryan says, “You can’t change the world, but you can change the world for a few.” This philosophy drives his commitment to volunteerism and charity work, embodying the values of C3 in his efforts to support his community.

At C3 Technology Advisors, we’re proud to have a team that truly embodies our values of community involvement and giving back. Whether it's Kimmy DiBenedetto’s dedication to animal shelters, Sheila Snow’s compassionate work with children battling cancer, or Ryan Boyk’s commitment to feeding the hungry through charity auctions, these efforts reflect the heart of our company. Their passion has not only impacted countless lives but has also united the C3 team in supporting their missions. This is just a highlight of a few C3ers' positive impact outside of work for charity or great causes, reminding us that small acts of kindness can create lasting change in our communities.
